ABOUT THE CALLAWAY CENTRE
The Callaway Centre is an international centre for music
education resources and research. It is based in the School of
Music at the University of Western Australia where it receives
support from the Frank Callaway Foundation for Music and
operates in association with the University's Reid Library and
Wigmore Music Library. The centre is a non-commercial and
co-operative organization which publishes quality academic
books in music and music education and houses several archival
collections of international significance.
The nucleus of the Centre's holdings is the comprehensive
and unique collection of music education materials which
include the correspondence, publications and professional
library of Emeritus Professor Sir Frank Callaway, presented to
the University on his retirement in 1984. Since then the
collection has vastly increased through the acquisition of
several archival collections, as well as through the donation
of materials from individuals and publishers.
